The Next Generation EU funds
The NextGenerationEU Fund is an instrument approved on 21 July 2020 by the European Council with the aim of contributing to the reconstruction of the members of the European Union, repairing the economic, social and health effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and at the same time promoting the ecological and digital transition of the countries of the European Union. It is endowed with €750,000 million to be disbursed to the member states during the period 2021-2026, of which €390,000 million will be grants (transfers to the states) and €360,000 million, loans.
In October 2020, the State Government presented the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan. Understood as the roadmap for the modernization of the economy, recovery of economic growth, job creation, for solid, inclusive and resilient economic reconstruction after the COVID-19 crisis, as well as to respond to the challenges of the future. It includes the axes and lever policies that must guide and frame the projects that can obtain financing within the framework of the NGEU Funds.

10. Modernization of the tax system for inclusive and sustainable growth
Spain will receive around €140 billion from the NGEU fund, €72.7 billion of which will be non-refundable transfers, of which €59.168 billion correspond to the MRR and €12.436 billion to REACT-EU. In the areas of competence of the autonomous communities, they will sign agreements with the ministries involved in the management and execution of the MRR funds.
Projects subsidized by Next Generation EU funds at the Segre Olympic Park:
Circular repowering. Investment aid in repowering wind installations, technological and environmental renovation of mini hydroelectric power plants ≤10MW
IDAE (Institute for Energy Diversification and Saving)
A grant of €290,481.00 has been awarded to improve the mini-hydroelectric power plant at the Segre Olympic Park.
